A.N- As always if you like a story let me know.
Ever sine Hadden could remember men had been walking in and out of his life. His mother hadn't really been sure who his father was when he was born. She raised him on her own and was always looking for a husband, a father figure.
Faces came and went, when Hadden was five one actually stuck around for more then a few months. He got his mother pregnant with his little brother but shortly after Mitchel was born he like all the others became another face in the crowd.
It didn't stop Madelyn from trying to find the love of her life and now a father figure for both her sons. Eventually Hadden got used to it... He became jaded and understood that his mothers boyfriends never stayed long. They usually only hung around for one thing and once they were done they were gone.
Time and time again he watched his mother cry at the lose of love and had to console his little brother...who unlike him never seemed to understand. He tried his best to step up and make them both happy. Every time his mom got dumped, he’d do his best to cheer her up. While he never had a father he did his best to be there for his little brother. He helped him figure out the things, he’d had to learn on his own. He did his best to be the man of the house.
By the time Hadden was nineteen he thought he could handle most anything. He was used to the way things were and didn’t expect them to ever change. However one night while he was playing The Raging Call with his brother his mother stepped up to them both and informed them she’d met the one.
It wasn’t the first time they’d heard this or probably even the last. Reluctantly Hadden paused the game. He crossed his arms and leaned back on the couch while his twelve year old brother just rolled his eyes. It wasn’t uncommon for their mother to fall in love at the drop of the hat. However things were a little different this time.
Usually Madelyn would meet a guy and start dating him. If they lasted longer then a few weeks she’d introduce them to the boys. From there they usually lasted anywhere from a few hours to a few months. Yet this time after Madelyn announced she’d found the one, she reached out her hand and showed them a diamond ring, “He’s asked me to marry him,”
“Wait...what who?” said Hadden leaning forward on the couch. This had to be a first. The engagement ring wasn’t anything new. Madelyn had enough rings by now that she could make a bracelet. However the fact that the boys didn’t even know she was dating anyone right now or his name was a change.
“Jace Tilroy”
“Jace Tilroy...” said Hadden having no clue who the fuck that was.
“I met him at work...he’s a businessman,”said Madelyn excitedly.
“What’s his business?” asked Hadden.
Madelyn went to speak but paused after a second, looking a bit lost. “Well I’m not really sure actually. It pays alot”
“You’re not really sure,”
“He told me about it. I wasn’t really paying attention. It’s- It’s something,” said Madelyn waving her hand in the air.
“How long have you been dating?” asked Mitchel finally chiming in.
“A little over two months....”
“Two months and your engaged,” said Hadden.
Madelyn rolled her eyes, “Would you two relax. He’s a very good man.”
“How do we know. We haven’t even met him,” said Mitchel before Hadden could.
Madelyn opened her mouth to speak but then looked out the window behind the couch. She saw something that made her smile and stood. “Well that’s about to change. I’ve invited him over for dinner and it looks like he’s early,”
Both Hadden and Mitchel instinctively turned on the couch, looking out the window to see a back sports car in front of the house. Before they could ask any more questions Madelyn opened the front door and was already on her way out to greet him.
Hadden sighed and Mitchel groaned. They both turned back around and slumped down in the couch. “You don’t think...You don’t think she’s actually gonna marry him do you,”
“Who knows,”said Hadden closing the game. “But it’s doubtful...He’ll probably only last a few months a most...”
“I hope he’s gone before you are...” said Mitchel putting down his controller. “Or that I could come with you, when you go to college.”
“I don’t even know if I’m going yet...I still haven’t heard back from finical aid.” said Hadden standing up. He turned off the tv and then braced himself to meet another one of his mother boyfriends.
Mitchel fidgeted nervously and Hadden tried to calm him down. “Relax would you. If this guy turns out to be a jerk we’ll bail and see a movie,”
Mitchel fidgeted less and smiled at him. A moment later their mother voice rang out. “They are just so excited to meet you. I told them all about you,”
“I hope you didn’t hype me up to much,”
“Oh no,” said Madelyn “I’m sure they’ll love you. I do,”
Hadden gritted his teeth as he put on a strained smile. Out of all his mothers lines that was his least favorite. A moment later his mother came in on the arm of a man. The first thing Hadden noticed was he was tall. Taller then him and muscular, yet lean. He had short black hair neatly styled and black rimmed glasses. Hadden wasn’t really sure how old he was. He looked younger then his mother maybe. Which was a first. He was also good looking...Like something out of a business magazine or men’s suits. He was wearing a suit tailored to fit him. Again this was a first. Hadden did his best not to phased just because things were a little strange didn’t make them any different.
Hadden stepped up to greet him but before he could Jace turned his attention to Mitchel, “You must be Mitchel.”
Mitchel looked up at him nervously and nodded, “Yes, sir’
“So polite, feel free to call me Jace, “
Jace smiled and Mitchel attempted to smile back. Then all at once Jace’s eye were on him. They were powerful like a lazer beam. It paused for a second staring at him before he approached and put out a hand. “Hadden is...it,”
“Yes,” said Hadden shaking his hand.
He took it and had a strong slick grip it was tight and controlled the two stared at each other as Jace commented, “Such an interesting name. Quiet uncommon. You must get Hayden all the time,”
“Not all the time,” said Hadden. He pulled his hand back but Jace wasn’t done he held it and said, “I hear your into cars”
“Some,” said Hadden pulling his hand away more forcefully. Jace released it and Hadden thought it was a little weird how long he’d held on but no one else seemed to notice.
His mother chimed in, “I think I told you he wants to be a mechanic. He’s been working this last year, saving up to go to school. He’s just waiting to hear back from financial aid to see if they can help out any.
“I have some pretty nice cars. Brought one tonight, maybe after dinner you could check it out,”
“Mitch and I were thinking we might catch a movie after dinner,”
“Really which one?”
“Blood Enders,”
“Nice...maybe we can all go together,”
“Ekk count me out gore is not my thing,” said Madelyn. “Well I’d better go check on dinner.”
Madelyn left to go into the kicthen. Jace moved and such the front door and then. The awkward silence began as Hadden thought of his questions... He’d come over all sorts in his years and one of his favorite parts was sizing them up and estimating how long they lasted...He was pretty good at it,”
“So...Jace...How’d you and mom meet,”
Jace smiled he rubbed his noses and said, “And here I thought your mother told you everything,”
“Just the same we’d love to hear it from you,”
Jace looked to the couch. “May I...”
“Of course feel free.
Jace sat down almost with grace. “We met at her office. I was there to request some plans. She was very helpful in finding them for me. We got to talking and one thing led to another.”
“Really,” said Hadden “And what do you do for a living,”
“Mostly investments and research. I have my own company. We determine whether something is worth investing in for our clients.”
Before Hadden could ask another question Madelyn came rushing out, “Hadden oh Hadden I need you to run to the store. I’ve forgot the garlic bread,”
“What,” said Hadden turning to his mother.
“I’m making my famous spaghetti and I didn’t get the garlic bread go get some please,”
“Do we really need it,”
“Yes...we can’t have spegetti without garlic bread. Oh and get some Parmesan in the shaker. I think our’s is expired. Oh and ice cream get some of that as well,” She handed him a twenty dollar bill and he took it.
“Come on Mitch,” said Hadden.
Mitchel was only to happen to join him.
“No no he can stay. Why don’t you give Jace a tour of the house,”
Mitchel looked crushed.
“I can do it when I get back,” said Hadden.
“No no I know how you are...It would be nice for Jace to get a break from all the questions and for Mitchel to get a chance to know Jace,”
Hadden looked at Mitchel. He could tell he didn’t want to be left alone with Jace but Hadden wasn’t always going to be around when his mother brought home her latest boyfriend. Maybe it wouldn’t be good to let him have some practice. He assured Mitchel, “I wont be long, “
He left and got into his car. The grocery store was only five minutes away but with the line it took him over half and hour to get back. When he got inside Jace was playing Mitchel on Crono Crashers. By the looks of it he was actually winning. Most of his mother’s boyfriend couldn't even name a video game let alone play one decently, so maybe he wasn’t all that bad. He dropped the groceries off with his mom and then watched them finish the race.
When it was over without looking Jace called out, “What about you Hadden... You any good,”
“A little,” said Hadden.
“He’s the best,” said Mitchel.
“You up for a game,” said Jace with a sly smile.
Hadden glared at him but didn’t mind showing him a thing or two. He moved over and sat between Jace and Mitchel, taking Mitchel’s controller.
“You don’t mind if I pick the race,” said Hadden.
“No at all. I love a good challenge.
Hadden picked the hardest level in the game. He personally only mastered it a few weeks ago. Mitchel snickered knowing how hard it was to beat.
Hadden set up the match and then blew Jace out of the water. He hit nearly every bonus and was gonna win hands down. He smiled confidently and Mitchel burst out cheering until Jace came out of nowhere. He’d taken a secret route that Hadden hadn’t even discovered and was gaining on him fast. Hadden used a few of his weapons trying to crush him but he was always on his tail before long Jace was neck and neck with him and then passed him. He was grabbing all the bonuses now and Hadden couldn’t keep up with only seconds left of the race he blasted Hadden’s Crono race and won. Hadden wasn’t even able to finish the race.
Mitchel roared out wanting to know how he did that and wondering if Jace could show him.
Jace smiled and said he had the game at home and had played a lot. He had the new Blood to Bone game. With that he’d pretty much won Mitchel over, seeing as no one ever beat his brother and had both been wanting to play Blood to Bone but it was currently too expensive.
Hadden sat quietly on the couch and rubbed his face as their mother called out, ‘Dinner,”
Mitchel rushed into the kitchen to tell his mother what had just happened. Hadden sighed and Jace rested a hand on his knee. He suddenly realized how close he was to Jace. The couch was small and when he scrunched in between Jace and Mitchel he’d pressed himself against Jace. Their legs were practically pressed against one another. Jace patted his knee and said, “You’re pretty good. No hard feelings I hope. I just don’t like to lose,”
“Whatever,” said Hadden pulling away. Jace got up and straitened his suit. He went into the kitchen. Hadden scowled it had been a lot time since someone beat him. He found himself irritated as he turned off the game and then the tv yet again.
When he got into the kitchen Mitchel was still going on about what happened. Their mother listen and laughed as Jace held her hand ontop of the table. Every so often she’d look at Jace and smile lovingly. He looked back at her just a doey eyed.
Hadden was quiet through most the dinner listening to Jace go on about how he fell in love with their mother so quickly and couldn’t wait to meet them. He was looking forward to them being one happy family. It was sickening but he was used to it. Empty bullshit promises, grandstanding... When the dishes were in the dish watched Mitchel asked, “We still going to Blood Enders,”
“I don’t see why not,” said Jace. “Let’s all take my car,”
“Again I’ll pass you go have fun and come back for dessert,”
“I’ll get my coat,” said Mitchel before he ran off.
Hadden sighed and Jace called out to him, “Want to take a look at my engine.”
Hadden wanted to snap not really but he didn’t want to upset his mother. His car was pretty nice. It had a lot of extra’s Jace had only ever seen in some magazines and manuals. He even let him pop the hood and check it out. When Mitchel came outside he sat in the front whole Hadden sat in the back. Jace showed off a bit and kept looking in the rearview mirror. Hadden knew what he was doing...He was trying to win him over...He’d already won Mitchel and now he was trying to coax Hadden into living him. Hadden sat unphased....He wasn’t a kid...He wasn’t easily impressed...
The movie was amazing everything Hadden and Mitchel thought it would be and more. Jace was pretty decent he bought them anything they wanted at the theater and from having taken a date or two Hadden knew that movies could be pretty expensive. The giant buttered popcorn was nearly the same price as a ticket.
When it was over and they were walking back to the car Jace called out to Hadden. He turned and Jace threw him the keys... Hadden just barely caught them. He looked at Jace confused. “Why don’t you take us home,”
“Seriously,”
“Go for it...”
“And if I crash your car,”
“I got a few more,” said Jace slyly.
Hadden had to admit this was pretty cool. He got in the drivers seat and he’d never been less eager to get home. When they pulled up in front of the house Mitchel rushed in wanting to tell his mom about the movie and get some ice cream. Hadden went to unbuckle but Jace grabbed his hand. “I don’t see why you couldn’t take it around the block a few more times,”
“Really,”
“Go for it,” said Jace.
Hadden had to admit it was getting harder and harder to hate this dude. He pulled out and they drove around for a bit when they came back Hadden was feeling pretty good. They went inside and ate some ice cream. When it got late Mitchel went to bed and Hadden chilled in his room to give his mom some time alone with Jace.
Before he went in Jace called out to him, “It was nice meeting you,”
“You too,”
“Maybe...we could catch a car show this weekend,”
“Maybe said Hadden. He didn’t like making other plans. He knew those fell through to easily. At this point he didn’t hate Jace but wasn’t rushing to be his best friend. He went into his room and listened to some music.
**********
“I’m so glad you all got along so well,” said Madelyn and Jace and her sat in the kitchen.
“Is that rare...”
“For Mitchel no but for Hadden....He’s not so easily won over,”
“Give me time,” said Jace...
“Do...you...wanta stay the night?”
Jace smiled at her, “Not tonight, I should get going,”
“You sure...they won’t mind,”
“I’ll see you tomorrow maybe we can all have dinner again. I promised Mitchel he can play Blood to Bone.”
“What?”
“Its a game,”
“Ah...okay,”
“Alright, its a date then.” said Jace getting up he made his way to the living room, “I’ll even bring another one of my cars for Hadden to drive,”
“He’ll love that,” said Madelyn walking him to the door. Before he left Jace leaned in and kissed Madelyn it was a brief sweet kiss. Madelyn watched him all the way to his car. Waiting for him to get in and drive off before she shut the door.
He drove less then a block before he parked his car and let out a heavy sigh, “Fucking clingy bitch!” He looked in the rear view mirror and wiped her lipstick off his lips. He pulled out a cigarette and lit it before he took a few puffs. More and more he was beginning to understand why she had so many boyfriends... He couldn’t believe she’d offered to let him spend the night when he just met her boys. How fucking slezy. She barely kept her hands off of him but...all things considered it hadn’t been a total loss. After all he’d finally got to properly meet him.
He’d met Madelyn a few month ago when he’d been looking into some real estate for an important client. Usually he sent someone to get the plans but he wanted to make sure it was done right. Madelyn threw herself at him almost as soon as he entered the room. He was used to it woman were always trying to impress him... He didn’t favor any sex over the other, but always found men to be more practical in business and in bed. Still from time to time he hooked up with a woman if she was to his specifications. Madelyn was not. She talked too much, wanted it too much. She was somewhat attractive but only at a glance.
He’d done his best to be polite and was grateful when she’d gone off to get his plans. He’d scanned the room for a moment and it was there that he’d saw her family photo. It didn’t surprise him there was no man in her life. Just two boys...There was something about the older one though...His eyes....they were...different. He reached out for the photo. There seemed to be a bit of glare as he was brighter then everyone else in the photo. His smile...pulled him in.
She’d caught him looking at the photo and told them it was her sons. The oldest one had just turned nineteen a few months ago and wanted to be a mechanic. He could care less about the younger one. He got the plans he needed and left. He went about his day but that picture kept coming back to him. The young mans eyes....his smile....As he lay in bed he’d think about it.
When he was done with the plans one of his assistance offered to take them back for him but he decided to do it himself. Madelyn again threw herself at him and he ignored her. He focused on the picture again and asked if she had any others. She said she did and was only more happy to show him. Every single picture Hadden was....alluring. He found it infuriating how fascinated he’d become it wasn’t like he was a model...
He took Madelyn out to dinner to try and understand why he was so captivated. Had they met before somewhere. He mined her for information. What was he like...What were his interests...Was he dating anyone. She was a fountain of information. He didn’t know why he was bothering with her. Why he didn’t just approach Hadden. Maybe because it was so strange. He’d never really felt like this for anyone. He wanted as much information as he could gather. He wanted to be in control of the situation.
He found himself seeking Hadden out, watching him from afar. He’d drive by the house and saw him working on some cars. He was even more stunning, intoxicating in person... He was perfect. He found himself following him to his work, on his dates...He’d break his cars just to have Hadden work on them. He took pictures of him and masturbated to them. He started dating his mother so he could be closer to him. After a while he wanted to meet him. To know him.
Jace wanted Madelyn to introduce them but she didn’t want to just yet. She wanted to keep their dating a secret until they were more serious. So he asked her to fucking marry him. That got him in fast. Less then a day later she invited him to dinner and they’d finally met...and what a meeting it was..
Jace put his cigarette out and pulled a pair of Hadden’s boxers out of his pocket. He’d snuck into his room while Mitchel had been setting up the Chrono Racers. He smelled them now as he pulled himself out. He thought of Hadden’s eyes the first time they officially met. He slowly began to stroke himself as he thought of how soft his hands were. How their hands fit one another perfectly. He glided his hand up and down his shaft, pulling, squeezing as he thought of their knees touching while they played. How he’d pushed closer and won...
He took a large whiff, moaned, groaning with pleasure as he though of dinner. He was so quiet barely said a word. He hated dinner conversation. You had dinner to fucking eat not speak. Yet everyone expected you to talk...about nonsense...about shit that didn’t matter..
He increased his speed as he thought of showing him his car. He’d bent right over the engine and he’d shuttered with how bad he wanted him. He wanted to fuck him right over the hood. To tear into him and feel his skin wrapped around his.
He began to jerk faster thinking of the movie theater, he’d watched him the entire time.... When they drove home he’d been able to touch him to show him where to put his hands. How much pressure to use...He longed to teach him...to train him.
He could picture him in a collar on his knees. His beautify full lips taking him.. It got to be too much and in one swift tug he let go shuttering, pulsing as he came. He used Hadden’ s boxers to soak up his semen... He smiled thinking it was a sign of things to come.
