First Short of 2024 Woot!

Kyla slammed her hands against the steering wheel of her car and cursed under her breath again and again. She furrowed her brow and groaned before throwing her head back. She was so fucking stupid! The warning signs had been there but she hadn't connected the dots. She hadn't thought things through and now it was too late. How many times had she told her students to think things through. She should have listened to her own damn advice but she hadn't and now she was so fucked. She was stuck between a rock and hard place and had to make a decision, right here and now.
Everything had started months ago or maybe not... Maybe all of this had started years ago and she just hadn't realized it. She couldn't be certain of anything at this point but looking back a lot of things now stood out to her...of course hindsight was 20/20. Kyla was teacher and had been teaching for nearly seven years now. Originally she had been hoping to teach grade school but had to start out teaching middle school.
She couldn't pass up the pay and admittedly the location. She had fallen in love with the town of Taver years ago. During college she would often pass through it on her way back and forth. It was such a beautiful town like something out of a painting. She thought it would be a nice place to live and teach. Once she graduated and got her license she applied for any opening they had, everything but the grade level seemed to match up perfectly.
She found a nice house to rent in town, near the school and could either walk or drive to work. For three years she taught middle school literature and managed the after school art club in an old but nice school. She loved teaching so much and it soon became her whole world. Around four years ago the town build a new school that combined the middle school and high school.
Everyone was shifted around and she hoped something would open up in one of the lower grades but she ended up taking a job at the new school, teaching high school literature and art. She was hoping there wouldn't be too much of a jump from teaching middle school to high school but that first year was a roller coaster. There were a lot of new and unexpected challenges, especially when hormones were involved. She didn't know how she managed but she did and decided to keep teaching at the high school level.
Of course that summer she took on some extra courses at the college, to be better prepared for the next year. She also spent her free time researching various materials to keep her classes engaged. Going back the second year was still pretty rough but with some relative experience now and some new tools and techniques, she managed to feel more capable in her position. So much so that she was able to start taking on more, beyond her own classes, she volunteered for some events and assisted with other school functions. She also started to get to know some of the high school teachers.
It was here, she first became aware of the Kurshek's... Mila Kurshek, was the foreign language teacher. Kyla had seen her around the school, the year prior but Mila had mostly been away on maternity leave, with twins. Up until this second year they hadn't had any real contact with each other, to which Kyla was grateful. She quickly learned Mila was a controlling bitch. She took it upon herself to be in charge of everything and thus everyone. She was very critical and rarely had anything nice to say.
It made volunteering for anything a pain but once Kyla had stepped forward for a few things, Mila just assumed she owned her. She put her name down on every volunteer list and was always ready to boss her around. Even if Kyla somehow managed to find a way out of an event, Mila would hound her endlessly, to the point where it was nightmarish. It was just easier to do what she wanted. For the most part Kyla just kept her head down and avoided her whenever possible. Still, even with Mila, Kyla loved her job very much. She found it rewarding even on her roughest of day. She thought she was making a difference and helping to send young fresh minds out into the world.
However a few months ago, she bean to notice things and her troubles began. It all started with the quarterly bake sale. She'd arrived late as she'd stayed up late baking the night before. The last time they'd had the bake sale, Kyla had forgotten about it and just brought in some cookies from the grocery store. She thought it would be okay but Mila had been beyond over the moon. She threw the cookies away and chastised Kyla in front of the other teachers.
Apparently Kyla was the only one who was incapable of following the basic guidelines of the bake sale. All baked goods were to be home made and not store bought. She insisted Kyla was lazy and setting a bad example for their students. She pointed out that all the other teachers, who had families still managed to meet their quota and that Kyla who had no one, should have managed twice as much as them. When the next bake sale popped up, Mila marked Kyla down for a two layered cake and four dozen cookies, expecting it all to be fucking home made.
Kyla was not lazy and she could bake but some days were just soo long, especially when the bake sale fell on a Saturday. Friday nights she'd have after school clubs, grading, tidying up and then whatever game was going on. Thanks to Mila she always had to work concessions. Then after she had to help clean up, by time she got home it was nearly ten and then to bake and have everything ready it was around two or three o'clock in the morning, when she finished. Still Kyla had done it, she'd made a two layered white cake with chocolate frosting and four dozen cookies. She even frosted the cookies added sprinkles and wrapped them up in set of six, in little decorative bags, she'd paid for.
The sale was going on during the female volleyball tournament. She was suppose to come in, drop off the bake goods and do concessions well into the evening. Plus on Sunday they needed to do various paperwork and have their weekly teachers meeting in the afternoon. Her whole weekend was just a bust. Not that she had a life outside school but she did like to sleep and relax a little. That night she cleaned up her kitchen and took a quick shower. She was suppose to be their at 9:30 to set up but had forgot to set her alarm.
Around 10:15 someone had called her house. She'd been so tired she'd ignored the first three calls but picked it up on the fourth, only to have the person hang up. She thought it was strange but realized what time it was and rushed to school. When she got there everything was already set up and students and parents were arriving. The look on Mila's face when Kyla stepped up to the bake sale table said it all. She was furious but seeing as parents were around she didn't go off on her. She was still flippant telling her to just set her things down and walk away. Kyla wasn't sure what she was expecting Mila to say, "Thank you for taking the time or oh you can baked." Still she had hoped for even the slightest hint of gratitude.
Kyla set everything down and pointed out she separated the cookies into little bags of six. She also told Mila what kind of cake she had baked but Mila had no interested in any of it. She just rolled her eyes and gave her busy bee, right hand bitch, Darla Jean a look of annoyance. Darla Jean shook her head and returned her own dull look. Kyla really wanted to say something to them but just clenched her fists and walked away, knowing it would just cause more problems.
She really hated the two to of them. No matter what she did they always had a way of making her feel so small and worthless like she was back in high school herself. She tried not to let it dampen her mood and put her things away in her classroom. Instead of going to concessions, like she was suppose to, she popped back over to the bake sale and took a quick look. She wanted to see what others had made and what they would price her cake and cookies at.
She saw a lot of different baked goods and some of them looked really good. She planned to get a few things on her break, if any were still left. Looking over everything she thought her cookies and cake would fit in nicely but she couldn't for the life of her see where they'd put them. She check all the tables and then approached Darla Jean as she was moving things around. "Uh, Darla, where did you put my things?"
"Uh," Darla froze for a second, like a deer caught in head lights. She looked around for a second but didn't say anything.
"Did they sell already?" asked Kyla when she failed to respond. She doubted they had she'd only been gone for maybe five or ten minutes at best.
Darla continued to look bewildered for a minute before saying "Uh...yes, I mean no."
"What?" said Kyla confused "Did someone buy them or not?"
"No, Mila threw them out, they weren't up to snuff." She said raising her nose up a bit.
"WHAT! WHY NOT!?" asked Kyla in utter disbelief. "I baked those myself. I followed the guidelines!" Darla Jean looked caught up again before Kyla could say anything else an elderly woman asked about the pricing on some cinnamon rolls. Darla Jean took this moment as her out and darted off to assist her, leaving Kyla flabbergasted.
She couldn't believe what she'd just heard once the initial shock passed. She was pissed, beyond pissed. All that effort and Mila had just thrown them out. She planned to have a word with her, fuck more then a few but couldn't find her anywhere. The bio teacher Pamela saw her from the concession and desperately cried out for help. Kyla knew she was already late, confronting Mila would just have to wait. She rolled up her sleeves and went to assist but her mood was awful all morning. It was a struggle smile and pretend she didn't want to scream at the top of her lungs, especially since she had to work next to Mila's husband Kurt Kurshek.
He was just as unpleasant as his wife if not more so. He was the high school's history teacher and basketball coach. He was a reserved man, so quiet and sullen, embittered was a good term Kyla liked to use. He always seemed angry about something. Of course with a wife like Mila it was understandable. Over the years Kyla had heard her students complained more then a few times about how strict and condescending he was. He was always making them take tests at the drop of a hat and gave them soo much homework. If they didn't know an answer he'd mock them. He'd even go as far as making them stand up in front of the entire class as he "corrected" them.
She didn't have many run ins with him her first year teaching high school but she'd also been quiet overwhelmed. By the second she'd heard enough about him from her students and when she found out he was Mila's husband it didn't help. More then a few times she tried to speak up during a their teacher meetings and advocate for her students. She didn't mention him by name but had casually brought up that teachers needed to be more understanding of their students and not shame them and that they all needed to be on the same page when they were giving out homework. Their students could only handle so much at a time.
He seemed to pick up on her inferences and after a few meetings surprisingly spoke up. Usually he'd just sit quietly taking notes but he mocked her, saying she shouldn't be one to speak given her subjects. He considered art an extra curricular and when it came to literature she was lacking. He pointed out how poor their students grammar and spelling were on their assignments as if her whole job was to be some glorified spellchecker.
He insisted she focus on her own failings before pointing out others. From that moment on she hated him just as much as his wife, yes, they were definitely a matching pair. She tried not to have much contact with him either but unlike his wife she couldn't seem to avoid him. They were almost always put into the same groups. If she didn't already see him enough outside of class, his classroom ended up getting moved right across from hers in her third year of teaching art and literature. So while she was teaching she'd often had to see him throughout the day. Sometimes he'd pop over to her class room should he need anything or they get too rowdy in his opinion. He became the first teacher she saw every morning and the last one she saw every night. It was a nightmare, of course looking back it all made sense now...there were so many dots she'd failed to connect.
That weekend of the bake sale, he was as horrible as ever. He acted as if he were in charge of concessions. When really he was just suppose to be running the soda machine. He'd take up a clip board and just start assigning people tasks. Kyla liked to work the counter best. She enjoyed getting to talk with the parents and students but he always had her on pop corn duty. She'd spent hours making buttery batch after batch.
The schools popcorn was one of their best sellers but she had to watch it so it wouldn't burn or overflow. They also sometimes made other flavors if there was something special event going on. She didn't mind making pop corn but it was also right next to the soda machine so she had to stand side by side with Kurt for hours on end. That day he seemed extra spicy, snapping at Rosy the lunch lady when she'd given someone the wrong change. She was glad when he took his break and she got a moment of peace.
It didn't last long, she noticed the pop corn cups were getting low. She made a dozen or so more then went to grab some refills from storage. On the way she took a detour hoping to confront Mila. She wasn't going to let her get away with this! She looked for her at the bake sale but she wasn't there. One of the other teachers said she'd gone to her classroom to get something. Kyla practically ran hoping to catch up with her. However when she got there Mila was no where to be seen. Her classroom door was open and Kyla could see inside.
She saw Kurt sitting at Mila's desk eating the cake she had made. From the look on his face he seemed to be rather enjoying it. He had his eyes closed as he ate spoonful after spoonful. He also had several bags of Kyla's cookies laid out around him as well. Every so often he would pop one into his mouth. For several minutes she had just stood there and watched him pig out. She found herself confused, Darla Jean had said Mila had thrown her stuff out because it wasn't up to snuff and yet Mila's husband was eating everything. Had Kurt taken it out of the trash or had Mila given it to him, either scenario was strange.
She didn't know what to think. She wandered back to the bake sale, picked up a few things for herself and then dropped them off in her class room. Then she remembered she was suppose to be getting popcorn cups. She went and got some but when she got back they were already refilled and Kurt had returned. He was upset she'd left her post, even though they still had pop corn left, he hissed at her to get popping. She'd looked at him strangely for a second but got back to work.
The rest of the day passed with relative ease. She didn't run into Mila until it was time to clean up. She was talking with a few parents, when they stepped away Kyla decided to still confront her. Even if she hadn't thrown out her things she'd still not put them in the bake sale. She marched up to her and demanded to know. "What was wrong with my cake and cookies? Why didn't you put them out on the tables."
Mila rolled her eyes as she adjusted her hair and said, "I did, no one wanted them so I threw them out."
"Right," said Kyla knowing that wasn't true.
Mila hadn't put them out or thrown them away. She didn't get why she was lying. Before Kyla could get into it any further another of the parents stepped up to talk to Mila about next quarters bake sale. She wanted to know if parents could donate to the sale. Kyla waited for a moment as they talked but eventually walked off. She was upset and found it strange but was too tired to bother with it anymore. She just went home and crashed.
Looking back, she should have pushed it more but again hindsight was 20/20. The bake sale was just the first time she'd taken notice of something being off. There were probably so many other times she hadn't noticed anything. So many things were beginning to add up. She realized the same year Kurt's classroom had moved across from hers she'd also gotten her "secret admirer."
One morning she'd come into her classroom and found someone had left a small carton of milk and a cinnamon roll on her desk. She found it strange as it was what she usually got for breakfast. Every morning like clockwork, she'd come into work, drop off her things in the classroom, set up a little for the day, and swing by the cafeteria for her a small carton of milk and a cinnamon roll. The school made some of the best she'd ever had.
She'd stared at it for a long moment wondering who had left it. Maybe it wasn't for her but a teacher or student had popped by and just forgotten their breakfast? It was still pretty early, she didn't touch it hoping someone would pop in and collect it, solving the mystery. Yet no one came, when it got close to class she moved it and saw there was a slip of paper under the milk. It read, 'You are my sun, your radiance is blinding and your gravitational pull is undeniable."
It was a rather strange message she wasn't quiet sure what to make of it. Eventually she ate the food, thinking someone was just trying to be nice. She wrote it off as a one time thing however every morning after, she'd find a cinnamon roll and a carton of milk, with another note waiting for her on her desk. The notes never said who they were from but always spoke of her alluring beauty. She quickly realized she had a secret admire. She wondered if it was another teacher or a student, either way it needed to be addressed. It was a nice gesture but one that she did not return. She was open to the idea of love but not like this and not at work.
She came in earlier and earlier to catch the secret admirer, however whenever she came in too early the cinnamon roll, milk and note never showed up. She wasn't able to catch who was doing it but was happy when it had stopped. After a few weeks, she'd nearly forgotten about it but on her birthday she got a call to the office, during her free period. She was in the middle of grading papers and wondered what was going on. She went to the main office to find it filled with dozens of birthday balloons and a stunning bouquet of expensive flowers. There was no note on the flowers. The women in the office all gushed over them. They wished her a happy birthday and congratulated her on having someone so affectionate in her life.
They probably thought it was from a lover or her family but Kyla knew her family wouldn't do something like this and she had no lover or even close friends for that matter. Teaching kind of consumed her entire world, she didn't have time to socialize. She found herself puzzled but gathered it all up. Maybe her students had chipped in but how would they know it was her birthday? Maybe it was the staff just wanting to be nice. It was possible but she doubted, so many questions ran through her mind. It was a bit of a struggle but she manged to get everything back to her classroom.
When she returned to her desk, her grading papers had been neatly stacked and a cake with an unlit candle was sitting in the middle of her desk, along with a small wrapped present. She realized her secret admirer had struck again. She opened the package and found a nice set of pens in various colors. All of it was nice but made her feel so uncomfortable.
Why didn't this person just approach her? She might have accepted their gifts as a friend. Why did they need to be so secretive? It troubled her, she didn't like unanswered questions. She sat at her desk for a while and then reported it to the office. The principle took her report but didn't seem too concerned. Nothing dangerous had happened, if anything he thought it was sweet. Again she would have felt better about it, if they'd just come forward with who they were. She didn't like playing games. The principle told her to keep track of every time she got a gift, where and when. He thought they'd find the culprit sooner or later and she hoped so.
For almost two weeks, things were quiet then she began to notice little chocolates being left everywhere. At first she thought a student had been dropping them. They weren't suppose to have food in class but sometimes she'd find empty chip bags and candy wrappers. When she found a few chocolates in the pocket of her coat and the draws of her desk, she realized it was from her admirer. She kept track of it all. She jotted down notes and filled up nearly two jars full of chocolates. She'd turn it into the office but didn't hear back from the principle.
One night as she was going to her car she found a book of poems sitting in her drivers seat. The book had various passages and words highlighted. 'You are my sunrise, my sunset, my ever blooming rose, you call to me in ways unknown, you are my light in the dark beckoning my eternal heart. There is no light when you are gone, only darkness dwells these bitter walls. Staw berry kisses fill my dreams I see your vision dance across my mind, in time I hope to make you mine." It was quiet disturbing. There were nearly a hundred pages highlighted and the book looked well warn as if its owner had flipped through it many times. She worried this was verging on obsession.
Again she reported it to the school and this time the principle took action, seeing as her car had been broken into. He got the schools enforcer evolved. Ryan Mcdowel when he wasn't teaching gym or coaching he was in charge of school security. He used to be in the military or something and was well decorated. She found he was a very gruff, no nonsense kind of man. She hadn't had much contact with him over her years, only in passing. He looked over all her notes of times and events then checked out her car. She wondered if they should file a police report but he didn't think she should be too concerned.
He said he'd hunt the culprit down, insisting it was probably some teenager prankster, trying to get a rise out of her. He implied this wasn't the first instance they'd had. She tried not to worry but brought it up at that weeks teachers meeting. They seemed to listen but later she heard Mila chatting to some other teachers saying Kyla was making it all up. She had no love life so she had to make up a secret admire for the drama and attention.
Kyla got upset, Mila made it seem like she was crazy! She was not crazy! She made it clear she hadn't made this up. This whole situation was getting out of hand and she just wanted it to stop. She had a bit of an outburst standing up for herself in front of the other teachers but thankfully some of them believed her and promised to keep a lookout for anyone acting strangely around her classroom or car. Ryan also began walking by her classroom and the parking lot more often. It seemed to work, the gifts stopped and nearly a full month went by with no incidences.
One day Ryan stopped by her classroom and said he'd had a talk with some of the more troublesome students. He thought he knew who might be behind this prank and that they shouldn't be bothering her anymore. She really hoped that would be the end of it but at this years big mid year party things had taken an unexpected turn.
The party was right before their winter break, it was just for school staff and their family's to celebrate and blow off some steam in the middle of the year. It wasn't a very big get together, they'd have a small catered dinner, some awards, music, a raffle and an anonymous gift exchange. This year she gifted an ornate journal that would be good for personal or professional use. She picked a random package and got a cool plastic braclet that sparked and lit up. They never got anything major just something fun or practical. Normally the party was a sober affair but this year they had alcohol.
They played some fun drinking games and Kyla admittedly got drunk. It wasn't something she normally didn't. She'd only ever been drunk two times before. She usually never went over a glass or two but everyone was drinking and having such a good time. It had been a while since she'd had so much fun. Everyone kept getting their glasses topping off and there were jokes about having to get one of the school buses to take everyone home. Things started to get really wild, a lot of it was a blur. At some point she'd wandered off from the party. She couldn't even remember why but found herself stumbling down one of the dark hallways.
She heard someone call her name and went into a dark classroom. She couldn't see a thing but someone was inside and they began making out. It had been SUCH a long time since she'd made out with anyone. She'd been on a few dates over the years but teaching really did take up all of her free time. She was so drunk that she just threw caution to the wind and went with it.
She didn't even know who she was making out with but she didn't care. She felt so light and fhappy, with not a care in the world. Whoever she was making out with was was also a good kisser. After a few minutes they began pawing at each others clothes. She could feel the mans hardon through his pants. She ran her hand over it giving it a squeeze before she unbuttoned the mans shirt.
The man unbuttoned her shirt and released her breasts from her bra. He took them in his hands and gave them a good squeezes before he pressed her into a wall and lifted up her skirt up. She felt so erotic in that moment. What they were doing was so wild and risky. Anyone could come in and catch them at any moment. The man's touch felt so cold but good. She let out lustful moans as he kneaded her breasts and then took her nipples into his mouth. He sucked on them passionately and she thought she felt him bite at one before he pulled away.
It was so dark she couldn't see where he'd gone. She reached out for him as she heard a belt unbuckle. A moment later the man grabbed her and whirled her around. He bent her over a teachers desk and hiked her skirt up around her middle. He slid her underwear to the side and before she knew it he was balls deep inside her. Oh it felt good, really fucking good. She cried out as he began to pound her pussy into oblivion.
He was so aggressive and exited grabbing hold of her hips tightly. Every so often he'd dip a hand between her legs and feel for her clit. He seemed to know what he was doing as he fingered it. It didn't take much to send her over the edge. She cried out cumming hard but he didn't stop he just kept going and going and she kept on cumming.
Every so often they'd change positions, she'd sit on the desk, get on the ground on all fours. He pressed her up against the chalk board. She had never fucked anyone like this in her life they were like rabbits going at it endlessly. They kept locking lips and she'd almost hear him speak but then he'd cut himself off getting more aggressive with his fucking. She wished she could remember more but so much of it was a blur she must have passed out at some point or something.
Come the next morning, she woke to light pouring in through a classroom window. She was on her back, sprawled out naked on the floor. She had no idea what had happened the night before and had panicked. Everything was a blur, she didn't even remember going to the school. She felt so disoriented like she was having a fucking nightmare. She had no idea what she was doing naked in a classroom. When she managed to calm down, she looked around and found her clothes neatly folded on top of a desk, in the classroom. She frantically grabbed them and got dressed. It started to come back to her in flashes, the party, music, dancing and drinking. She ran a hand over her face realizing she was hung over. Her heard pounded and everything was so fucking bright. She must have gotten drunk off her ass She remembered stumbling around in the hallway and fumbling around with someone in the dark. She could still recall the feel of their lips on her own. Yes...she'd been with someone. It all came together, she'd gotten drunk and had sex with a stranger.
SHIT! SHIT! SHIT! She couldn't believe she had done such a thing, especially at work. She rushed to her classroom getting her things. She was so worried someone was going to see her but no one was around. When she got to the parking lot her car was the only one still left in the lot, everyone else had already gone home and was on winter break.
She carefully drove home and took a hot shower once she got inside her place. She stayed in there for nearly an hour. She kept wondering what she was thinking drinking so much and then having sex with a complete stranger. It was so stupid, doing it at work and dangerous. She wasn't on any birth control and they'd gone it without a condom. Her head hurt so bad it was hard to think for long she felt so fucked up and tired. She grabbed some water, took something for her head and passed out for nearly a day.
When she woke up she felt better but groggy. She shuffled around her house in a rob all day cringing as she recalled bits and pieces of the party, conversations, laughing, paying games and having while sex in a fucking class room with some guy. She agonized when she realized it wasn't just any guy but probably someone she knew. The only people at the party were the school staff and there spouses. What if she had slept with someone she worked with or worse their spouse.
It was hard to enjoy her time off, her entire break she kept thinking about what had happened. She was worried she was going to be in so much trouble when she got back. Everyone might talk about it and she was probably going to get fired. She tried not to let it consume her. She did some last minute shopping, visited some family and caught up with a few college friends. When she got back to town she cleaned her entire house from top to bottom rearranging things to keep her mind busy. Then she caught up on various classes and reviewed her plans for the second half of the year even though she wasn't sure if she'd still be teaching.
The teachers always came back a few days before the end of winter break to have meetings and set up some. She was unsure of how things were going to be. If she was going to be fired she hoped it wasn't in front of her students. She wondered if she'd be able to get another teaching job after this or if this sort of thing would go on her record. They had mentioned being blacklisted if you were deemed inappropriate. Of course, there was a chance no one knew what she had done but how could they not.
She dove into work and sat in her car for nearly twenty minutes before she walked in. She tentatively waved and nodded to several people but no one seemed to treated her any differently. Most of them looked tired or busy with their own things. She attended a meeting on upcoming events and was put down to volunteer.
When she went to the break room people asked her about her time off and they got to chatting, everything seemed okay, normal even. She had several pleasant conversations and then someone brought up the party. She learned, everyone had gotten pretty rowdy, so it wasn't just her. She felt soo relieved. No one was talking about her and what she'd done, if anything everyone was talking about the vice principles wife. Apparently at some point during the party she had gotten on a table and took her shirt off in front of everyone, a brawl had also broken out in the parking lot. The rumor was there would be no more alcohol allowed at parties.
Kyla was so glad no one knew about her drunken thirst but she did wonder just who she had slept with. Had they been drunk too? Had she passed out before or after they'd taken off? Did they even know who'd they'd slept with? Over the next few days she kept her eyes pealed but no one stood out to her.
When classes started up again they kept her pretty busy, she was nearly exhausted every night and almost fell asleep a few times, when she had to work super late. Sometimes she barely made it to her bed before she passed out. She was able to push everything that happened to the back of her mind. She wrote it off as a drunken mistake and vowed something like that would never happen again. From that moment on she was done with alcohol.
For the most part things were back to normal but she started feeling so awful, more exhausted then every and nauseous. She though she had the flu that was going around it just didn't seem to want to go away. She took some over the counter stuff but every morning she'd wake feeling sick, sometimes she'd throw up and could barely keep anything down but would start to feel better later in the day until it started all over again the next day. She was also finding it hard to focus on her work and wasn't as attentive as she liked.
One day in her third period class there was this awful smell in her classroom. She found herself more nauseous then ever and couldn't wait for class to be over so she could take a moment to herself. She'd like to splash some cold water on her face and maybe get something to drink. She also considered opening a window. She gave herself a light class and had her students take turns reading out of the book they'd been reading. It was going pretty well some bumps here or there but every so often she'd ask the students what they thought a passage meant or what the characters might be feeling.
When it was Rona Hatchshisk's turn to read she didn't stand up. The other students took notice and some of them turned to look at her. Kyla perked up looking as well. Rona didn't look that well she had a hand covering her mouth before Kyla could ask if she was okay, she turned in her seat and threw up on the floor. Rumors had been going around school that Rona was pregnant. Kyla usually kept an eye on rumors so she could put a stop to them. Shelly Beek quickly teased that Rona was having morning sickness and several other students started to laugh.
Kyla told them to quiet down and stood up. Two of her male students also stood up they went to help Rona asking if their baby was okay. The room fell dead quiet. Kyla quickly realized what was going on but thankfully it took the young men a bit long. Kyla quickly got between them and sent one of her students to get the nurse and then another to get the janitor. She tried to get the boys to sit down but watched as it slowly dawned on them they'd both been with the same girl. Chaos erupted, the boys tried to get at each other but Kyla managed to keep them apart. They began shouting at the top of their lung cursing each other out.
Kyla tried to raise her voice above theirs and demanded they sit down right now. They started trying to push around her and swung their first. She pushed them apart demanding they clam down or would be sent to the principles office. They wouldn't listen of course it didn't help that half the class was cheering them on and that Rona had started to cry. Kyla struggled to keep things under control but the smell that was already in the room and the girls vomit mixed in such a way, it soon overwhelmed her.
She couldn't stop herself and ended up puking on one of the boys. They quickly stopped fighting as another student puked and another. The other teens started getting scared and screaming. One of them ran from the classroom and soon the fire alarm was going off. Everything happened so fast, one minute she'd been sitting at her desk tying to focus, the next everyone was getting sick, screaming and running around.
Kurt was the first teacher to enter and demanded to know what was going on. Kyla covered her mouth and tried to apologize. Several students explained what was going on and then Ryan showed up and before she knew it, several more teachers. They had to evacuate the school as per protocol and had her class move to another room while they investigated the smell. All the sick students were taken to the nurse. Kyla just wanted to get clean up and got back to work but the principle insisted she get seen by the nurse too. He wanted to make sure nothing serious was going on and for insurance purposes. She was just so embarrassed that she'd puked and things had gotten so out of control. She saw the fire department had even shown up and everything.
When she was able to see the nurse she had her temperature taken. The nurse was a bit of a gossip, apparently the rumors about Rona being pregnant were true. She was hoping to finish out the school year with out anyone noticing but was struggling to keep anything down. It was looking like she'd have to be pulled out of school. Kyla felt bad for her but she knew any student that got pregnant was expelled. They worried it would set a bad example if they allowed them to keep attending. Kyla didn't think it was fair but she wasn't in charge of making the rules.
Kyla didn't have a temperature, the nurse checked her pulse and asked how she'd been feeling as of late. Kyla admitted to being tired and having the flu that was going around. The nurse said this years flu was more in the sinuses and not a stomach bug. She suggested Kyla see her normal doctor but otherwise checked out. Things began to slowly click as she went to the bathroom and cleaned up. Since she taught art she had an extra set of clothes she could change into.
She changed then taught the rest of her classes in choir room. Her own classroom was sprayed down and aired out just to be safe. The other students that puked were found to be okay they'd just had a weak constitution. Some people could get set off at the sight of blood or vomit. She canceled the after school clubs that day and didn't stay late telling people she wanted to go home and rest.
However Kyla didn't go home right away. She went to the pharmacy and picked up some cold medication and a pregnancy test...just to cover all her bases. She doubted she was pregnant but knew she'd be up all night wondering, if she didn't just take one and ease her mind. She went home, followed the instructions then had a nice hot shower. When she got out, she avoided looking at it. She got a snack and tidied up some before she finally checked it. It was positive.
She laughed madly thinking she'd misread it. The instructions were so confusing and it must be broken or a false positive. She thought the steam from her shower must have messed it up. She went to the store and bought five more. The clerk looked at her weird but she'd just smiled back. She went home and took them all over the next few hours. All of them were positive but she still didn't accept just yet, she knew tests could be wrong.
She made an appointment to see her doctor, during her free period and they ran a blood test confirming she was indeed pregnant. She had just sat there for the longest moment. It was funny… really funny...unexpected. She should have been horrified upset, yes, this wasn't part of her plan. She never ruled out married or having kids but she wasn't even dating anyone right now. It had to be the guy from the party...the drunken mistake. She covered her mouth and knew she should be upset but for a moment her heart surged with this sudden joy almost like a tickle. She...Kyla was going to have a baby. She was going to be a mother and bring another life into this world.
Maybe it was just the overall shock of it but she drifted around over the next few days, lost in this sort of bubble of absolute bliss. Her life was going to change but oh what a change, and the possibilities. She kept smiling to herself. She must have been crazy or hormonal who acted like this to an unplanned pregnancy and yet she couldn't help it. Up until this moment she hadn't thought about having her own kids that much but she loved kids and teaching. She quickly realized how much she wanted this.
Every so often she kept touching her stomach unintentionally. It didn't take long for others to notice and the rumors to start spreading. She tried her best not to confirm or deny them. She didn't exactly want to announce her pregnancy at work beside the fact that she was unwed...Mila Kurshek was currently pregnant with her fifth.
She had made a huge announced a few months into the new school year at one of the basketball games and any talk of pregnancy or baby's was to be hers. Even when her best friend Darla Jean got pregnant it still came back around to Mila having been pregnant first. She must have put something in the water or was contagious. Everyone also kept taking about how lovely Mila looked pregnant while Darla Jean was refereed to as "the balloon" even though her bump was barely visible. It was insulting as shit and again Darla Jean was best friends with Mila.
Kyla dreaded what they might call her and debated taking next year off. She might as well, she was going to be due sometime at the start of the next school year and have to take off most of it anyway. She also considered moving, while she liked the town of Taver, she always had this dream of raising a family by the sea side, some place with a light house and ships. Eventually rumors of her possible pregnancy reached the entire school and the way people looked and gossiped about her because she was single made up her mind.
Looking back at that time, she now recalled noticing Kurt standing in the hallway, while she was teaching. She had found it odd that he was just standing there staring into her classroom. What made it so memorable was he'd had this strange unsettling smile on his face. It was weird, given that man rarely, if ever smiled in the entire time she knew him. Yet Kurt seemed to be in an oddly good mood that day.
She also recalled rumors of Mr. and Mrs. Kurshek fighting around the same time. Apparently he'd done something to upset her and Mila's voice could be heard throughout half the school. Everyone wondered what was going on as she shouted at him but no one knew what she was saying as she spoke in another language. At the time Kyla didn't care what their problems were as she had so many of her own.
With all the rumors, the principle pulled her into the office and wanted to know what was going on. She didn't deny she was pregnant and he seemed quiet upset. He wanted to know who the father was and if she was planning on getting married to him. She knew this was coming and simply told the principal she would be resigning at the end of the year. It had been a difficult decision for her to make but he seemed pleased with her response. He asked that she keep her pregnancy and her resignation to herself unless there was a wedding to be announced. She could read between the lines and agreed to keep things rumors. In turn he agreed to write her a recommendation. It was better for him to sweep things under the rug rather then address them.
A few days later, Mila suddenly popped by her classroom at the end of the day and was oddly sweet to her...sickly so. She made awkward small talk then asked about the pregnancy rumors and if she was keeping it. Up until then, she hadn't responded either way but decided to start denying the rumors after her talk with the principle. She denied being pregnant and her words should have been enough to satisfy Mila's curiosity but it only seemed to upset her. It was as if she could tell Kyla was lying.
She gave her the nastiest look like she was sending daggers through her eyes. It was quiet disturbing and Kyla stopped grading her papers to look at her. Mila ran a hand over her sizable baby bump and "suggested" a woman of Kyla's status, being single and unwed, should consider her future and options very carefully and address things accordingly. Whatever she was getting at, went over Kyla's head. Was she suggesting she get an abortion? The mere thought seemed quiet absurd, especially since Mila had no proof Kyla was even pregnant.
Thankfully for once she was happy to see Kurt. He stepped into the classroom and gave his wife a big smile saying he'd been looking for her. She smiled back at him and just said she was "talking" with Kyla. He said she was done and the two just left. Kyla had found the whole situation rather awkward. She had so much shit on her plate that she didn't have time to figure out what that was all about. Again she should have thought it through, all the pieces were there but at the time she'd had tunnel vision. She was so focused on wrapping up the year, having to find another place, a job and of course getting ready for a baby.
It was getting harder to stay in her blissful bubble, especially when her secret admirer returned. The next day she came to class to find the cinnamon roll and milk were back on her desk, along with fruit and flowers. This time they had hand written a message on her chalk board.
"Our love is undeniable"
"Our love is undefiable"
"Our love is unity"
"Our love is life"
She stared it for the longest time with her arms crossed. She really did not have the time nor energy for this crazy bullshit! She wrote down what it said, then scrambled to get it everything cleaned up before the students saw. The last thing she needed right now were rumors of her being romantically involved with someone. She didn't eat the food throwing it and the flowers away. She reported it to the office but the principle seemed to have already washed his hands of her. He just looked annoyed by the sudden restart of her "admirer." This wasn't her fault but he acted like she was making trouble.
That night when she got to her car there were dozens of roses filling the back seat of her car. There was also a baby book in her driver seat with a small toy. She furrowed her brow worried her admirer, no her STALKER! had found out she was pregnant. For a moment, a dreadful thought occurred to her. What if that night, it had been him? What if he'd been watching her and saw that she was drunk and pounced? No! She'd just slept with a random guy, someone else who was drunk off their ass at the party. She really didn't want to think the father of her child could be this psycho. No, as far as she was concerned her child had no father.
She knew Ryan was in the gym assistanting Kurt with coaching the basketball team. She went to the gym and reported it to him. Ryan came out and Kurt also took a look, they took pictures and Kurt was very supportive for once. He offered to give her a ride home if she was feeling shaken. He just kept smiling at her and being so nice to her. It was a weird look on him, again she must have had pregnancy brain not to have noticed how many dots were right in front of her. She was just so so tired. She nearly burst into tears in front of them wanting this to stop. She didn't understand why this guy was toying with her like this.
She went home and threw everything in the trash. When she was done she tried to get some sleep but kept having nightmares about her secret admirer stalking her and her baby. When she drove into school the next day Kurt was oddly waiting for her. He tapped on her window, when she didn't get out right away. He offered to be of assistance to her in any way that he could. He'd said he'd protect her and keep an eye out for her secret admirer. To start he offered to walk her to and from her car, just to make sure she felt safe. She was very suspicious of him but supposed he was just trying to nice and could probably see she was scared.
He practically followed her everywhere over the next few days. She did not like him being around, even though he was being nice, something about him just made her skin crawl. She just didn't like him or his wife, who was also suddenly trying to be supportive of her "fragile" state. Mila made it seem like Kyla was having a mental breakdown and needed to be "cared" for. Kyla had thought Mila being a bitch was bad but it was nothing compared to her being "supportive."
She just wanted things to go back to normal. She didn't have much of the year left and wanted to spend it teaching her students and getting everything prepped for her departure. After nearly a week kurt suddenly caught one of the male students in her classroom. He claimed the teen had been messing with her desk and was part of a bunch of kids who were taking turns harassing her. It would seem her "secret admirer" was a bunch of teenage boys.
Kyla knew the boy they had caught his name was Jay Ratler. She had taught him in middle school he was a quiet kid from a troubled home but had always been very sweet. She didn't understand why he would do this. She didn't get what he and a bunch of other students go out of upsetting her. She tried to talk to him and ask him why and they'd done it. He just said it was funny...something to do. He wouldn't look her in the eyes. She wanted more time to question him but they called his parents and whisked him away.
The principle suspended him when he wouldn't give up the other boys. He held a big assembly later in the week and made it clear messing with teachers stopped here and now. Kyla felt a little better now that her admirer problem had been solved but something still felt off. She kept having nightmares of someone looming over her and her baby. One night she found herself restless. She woke up in the middle of the night and swore she saw someone in the shadows outside her window She'd stare out into the dark but couldn't certain. Maybe she was having some issues with all the stress.
When she went to work Kurt still hovering around her. She thanked him for finding one of the culprits and told him she should be fine now that she knew it was all just some prank but he still insisted on sticking around. He still walked her to and from her car and would stand around her classroom until the bell rang. They never really talked...he was always just quietly there looking around with a creepy smile on his face. She would be glad to move and never have to see him and Mila every again.
One day she was leaving work early as she she had a doctors appointment. She was suppose to get her first ultra sound and possibly hear the babies heart beat. She'd set up a sub to finish out her classes weeks ago but hadn't told Kurt. He practically ran out to the parking lot as she made her way to her car. He wanting to know where she was going and if everything was okay. She told him she just had a routine doctors appointment. He offered to drive her and she reminded him he had a class to teach. He asked when she'd be back and she said tomorrow. He suddenly got very moody and snapped at her for not telling him about the appointment.
She didn't get what his deal was. She got into her car and he just stood in the parking lot as she drove off. He looked like he wanted to say something but didn't. She tried not to think about him and focused on her appointment. She had to wait a bit as they were running behind, the nurse asked if anyone would be joining her and she said no. It was kind of freaky getting dressed down and having them put the cold jell on her stomach.
She was starting to show a little but everything was still just an idea at this point. Nothing was too real until she saw the blob on the screen. She could hear something and it sounded weird. It didn't sound like a normal heart beat but what did she know of a baby's heart beat. The doctor scanned her entire stomach and got a smile on his face. The nurse also picked up on something and covered her mouth.
Kyla wanted to know if everything was okay and the doctor told her it was. She asked about the heart beat and he said it wasn't abnormal it was just two heart beats instead of one. He then pointed out baby one and baby two. She was having twins. TWINS! Her eyes nearly popped out of her head as it sunk in. One baby was going to be plenty on her own but she was was going to have two. As she got dressed she felt overwhelmed but when they gave her the sonogram she couldn't help but fall more and more in love with them. It was silly but when she got to her car she quickly apologized for not agonizing the other and said hello to them both. She just sat there for a long moment looking at their first picture.
She took their sonogram with her everywhere. That weekend she started looking at baby clothes. She realized she was going to have to buy two of everything. She wondered if they would be boys or girls or one of both. Oh she'd have to think of names, she went to the book store and got a baby naming book but only read it when she was at home.
Sometimes when she was alone in her classroom she'd take out her sonogram and stare at it. They barely looked like anything little blobs but they were her little blobs that were about to be her entire world. She wondered now how she was going to afford all this. It was looking more and more like she'd have to move in with her parents. She hadn't even told them but knew they'd probably let her until she could find a job that would pay enough to support her and the babies.
They wouldn't be happy she didn't have a fiance. They were a bit old fashioned when it came to that sort of thing. Her wanting to go to college and be a teacher had been a bit of shock to them. Her sisters were stay at home moms. There was nothing wrong with that she just fell in love with teaching. She hoped she'd be able to return to it after the babies were born, she tried to do some simple math but it quickly became chaos.
She decided to take a break and went to get some lunch. She was half way to the cafeteria when she realized she'd forgotten the sonogram on her desk. She rushed back not wanting anyone finding out. When she got back to her classroom, Kurt was standing over her desk with the sonogram in his hands. He looked absolutely bewildered
"Kurt?"
"Twins..." he said turning to look at her, "You're having twins."
"Uh…yeah," she said snatching the sonogram from him, "Could you not tell anyone, especially your wife. I don't ah, want anyone to know I'm even having kids."
"Why? This is a tremendous event. Twins are a blessing."
"Yes, but there's no father."
"Oh, well allow me to step up."
"What." she said raising her eyebrow.
"They'll need a father, I'm already a great father."
"Uh, I think you're also already married," She pointed out.
"Yes but you could live with us."
"Live with you and Mila." It took everything not to cackle at the mere suggestion.
"Yes, we've been thinking of changing houses. We want a big family. Ryan owns some farm land. I've always wanted to build my own house, we'll just add a few more rooms."
"Right, uh thanks for the offer but I've already got plans."
"Do you," he said. She knew that tone he didn't believe her. What was with him and his wife being able to read her so easily. Maybe she was just that open.
"Yes," she lied.
"And what are they." he said crossing his arms. "How do you plan to pay for twins?"
"I've got something worked out,"
He just looked at her. She didn't have things figured out just yet but she would when it was time She put her sonogram away and turned to go have lunch. He grabbed her arm though pulling her back. "I'm talking to you!"
"And I'm getting lunch." she said pulling her arm free of him.
"How do you expect to raise twins on your own, when you haven't even been a mother yet?"
"I'll figure it out like everyone does,"
"I'm sure," he said adjusting his glasses. "I've seen how you figure things out! No! I insist you move in with Mila and I. We'll help."
She scoffed at him. "I don't want or need your help, frankly Kurt this is none of your business." She didn't want to be rude but this truly was none of his damn business.
He flared his nostrils but didn't say anything. She turned and went to lunch. As she stood in line thing started to slowly click in her head. His sudden mood change and concern, fuck the way Mila had been acting. She was very suspicious but tried to act normal. At this point it was all just suspicion, she didn't have any proof but...she'd get some.
She waited until classes were over. She did her club and he went to go coach like he always did. When she was sure his room was empty, she popped in to snoop around. She didn't need to look far. He had some writing on his chalk board, writing she recognized. He had written on her chalk board a few months ago, something about their love and unity. She recognized the r's, he had a certain way or writing them. She stumbled back and had to sit down for a second realizing he was her secret admirer. It wasn't much of a leap from there, to realize he was also the father of her her twins.
She rushed from his classroom and left the school. That night she could barely sleep thinking about everything. She didn't know what she should do. Should she go to the police... and say what? What had he done? What laws had he broken? He'd harassed her and broke into her car but she'd need proof. She'd need proof of any of it but SHIT! RYAN! Ryan was Kurt's best friend and she handed over everything to him time and time again. Plus for some reason they'd already used Jay Ratler as a scapegoat. As far as anyone was concerned her admirer was just a bunch of teen pranksters.
It would be her word against Kurt's, Ryan's and no doubt Mila. She knew how Mila could twist things. People already thought Kyla was unstable and the principle just wanted her gone at this point. She would probably be seen as a homewrecker if anything when everything came to light. She was soooo screwed! She kept running her hands through her hair and wondered why. Why had he done this? He was married and had a family so why mess with her? Why? It was the why that kept her up and the reason she had to go back to school. She had to know why!
She got to school early before the sun was even up. She went to her classroom and sat at her desk in the dark. She watched the sun slowly pour in through the windows, eventually he arrived and stood in the doorway of her classroom. He looked like he hadn't slept much either the two look at each other for a long moment before he said, "You're here early,"
"Yes," she said slowly. It was hard looking at him now. Knowing just what he'd been doing to her for months now. She saw him...everything in a new light. Before she had just hated him now she despised him with every fiber of her being. How sick and twisted did you have to be to fuck with someone like this.
"Why," she asked bitterly.
"Why what?" he asked before yawning.
"You know?"
"I really don't," he said dully.
"Everything, I know it was you" she said slamming her first down on the table. She was tired of this game. "The food at my desk, the notes, the chocolates, breaking into my car, the flower...the party. Fuck! Did you get me drunk on purpose?" The last question surprised her. It hadn't even occurred to her until just then, but he could have planned that night but he couldn't have known she'd get pregnant or who knows maybe he could, maybe the bastard knew her cycle...everything felt like it was up in the air at this point.
He pulled back looking unsettled by her accusations. He studied her for a long moment before he said, "I don't know what you're talking about, Kyla? Maybe you should see a doctor. You don't look well."
She dropped her jaw at the audacity of this man. She couldn't believe him. She didn't know what to expect, confronting him like this but not THIS. She knew what he had done and he knew, she knew but still he denied it to her face. Without another word he stepped out of the doorway and walked off. She got up and went after him. She wasn't about to let him walk away from this. She expected to find him in the hall or his classroom but he was just gone like he'd up and vanished. She looked for several minutes but couldn't find him anywhere. She went back to her classroom upset. She wanted answers but he didn't seem to want to give her any.
She didn't know what to do at this point. She got breakfast and picked at it until classes started. She tried to focus on her lesson and noticed he was late to his first period class. He practically ran into his classroom shut his doors for once. Usually he left them open but now she couldn't' see him. She couldn't help but wonder what he was thinking. She went back to teaching knowing this wasn't over but right now she was working.
When it was time for lunch she went to confront him again but he was already gone. Was he seriously avoiding her? She went out to the parking lot and saw even his car was gone from the lot. His wife's car was still here. She went to the cafeteria and found her. She seemed like her usual self, Kyla debated confronting her since he'd up and run off. Yet Mila was surrounded by other students and teachers. Kyla also knew it would do her any good. Mila wasn't the one who'd done this...but she probably knew what her husband had done. Who knows maybe she even helped him. For a moment they made eye contact but Mila just smiled back at her and pleasantly waved. Kyla wondered if they were both just bat shit.
She ate her lunch in her classroom and got ready for her afternoon classes. Kurt didn't reappear until just right before the bell. Again he slinked into his class, she was agitated but threw herself into her classes, they wrapped up the book they had been reading in one class and she had them pain self portraits in her art classes. She had two after school clubs that day but it was the middle of the week so no events. She graded some paper and then decided to wrap things up as it was getting dark. She gathered her things and stopped by his classroom. She fully expected him to be gone again but he wasn't. He was just sitting at his desk in the dark staring off into space. She opened his door and it would seem they'd switched roles. "You're here late," she snapped.
"Yes," he said but didn't look at her.
She stood there for a long moment staring at him but he said nothing. She didn't know what she was expecting from him. Finally she just said, "What is wrong with you!"
She expected him to deny it again but he just sighed and said, "I wish I knew." To her this was as good of an omission as any. He looked almost sad but she didn't care. After all the shit he did, THE FUCKING SHIT HE'D PUT HER THROUGH! Once more she demanded to know. "WHY!"
"Why. Why." he repeated but didn't elaborate. She wondered if he even knew why.
He just sat there looking tired but she was tried too...exhausted. She was so done with this. She found herself beyond wound up and supposed at this point it really didn't matter why he had done all this...the fact was he had. She turned in a huff and stormed into the hall wanting to get away from him, she needed to think and decide what to do next. Surprisingly he came after her calling out to her.
"KYLA! KYLA! WAIT!" He ran after her and grabbed her arm stopping her "Let me explain."
Now he wanted to explain, when she was walking away, could he even. She was suddenly so upset and emotional. Her eyes blurred with tears, they struggled for a moment before she turned and looked up at him. She spat at him "EXPLAIN THEN!"
She was just so angry with him with all of this. She just wanted to go off on him about everything and how it had made her feel. They lock eyes and he looked at her so strangely...his eyes softened, she realized he wasn't wearing his glasses. It was strange to see him without them. She hadn't realized how blue his eyes were, they were a strange blue maybe an-He leaned into her unexpectedly kissing her.
Her eyes popped open as he pushed her back into a wall. He tried to put his tongue in her mouth but she jerked away and slapped him hard across the face. She hadn't held back and his head whipped to one side. He held his face for a moment then looked back at her with such fierceness in his eyes. Something about him was strange... it was like he was suddenly a different person all together. Her heart quickened with fear and she froze up.
Without warning he grabbed her face up in his hands. His touch was so cold...she was reminded of the night they'd shared togetehr. He stared deeply into her eyes and she worried he was going to kiss her again but he didn't. He just went off on her "YOU have no idea how long, I've waited for this moment! How long I've wanted to, to tell you EVERYTHING! Every part of you is a bliss I have never know. YOU ARE THE SUN ITSELF! You are all consuming, blinding my better judgment. I've struggled everyday...YOU HAVE NO IDEA HOW I HAVE STRUGGLED." His eyes looked misty as they began to water. He didn't blink once glaring at her with such intensity as he continued, "I've tried so hard, to deny you, but I have loved you since the moment I met you. Ever since that day I have writhed in agony not to hold you in may arms." He let go of her face and embracing her, gathering her up in his arms.
She just stood there gobsmacked as he went on and on. "I….that night, the party I was suppose to get you out of my system. I couldn't eat. I couldn't sleep. I couldn't think I was going insane, to have you just one night, one night to lose myself in you. It was my way of letting you go. I knew we could never be together and yet our love is undeniable our love is undefiable, our love is unity." He put his hand on her abdomon "Our love is life."
That seemed to snap her out of it, when he got the twins involved. This...he was crazy. ABSOLUTELY FUCKING CRAZY. All the shit he was going on about she had no idea. "Our love," she spat pulling from his grasp. "I don't even know you!"
"But I know you," he said excitedly grabbing her again. "You are my eternity, my reason for being. MY LIFE WAS MEANINGLESS BEFORE YOU! I know that now. I understand why sonnets were written, why men waged wars for their loves. There isn't anything I wouldn't do to be near you."
"You're married," Kyla sputtered, trying to bring him back to reality. Her mind was going a million miles a minute she could barely comprehend what he was saying. She never expected any of this. She didn't now what to expect but….shit...SHIT! She didn't like him and he didn't like her. He was always so moody and rude. He openly mocked her and bossed her around, yet he was clearly obsessed with her. She pried herself free from his hands and tired to back away from him slowly. She didn't know what she was gonna do but one thing was certain, she needed to get as far away from his crazy ass as she could.
"I'll leave her. I'LL LEAVE HER!" He cried out as if he just decided in that moment "She means nothing to me. It was a marriage of convince really. She was suitable, attractive and could give good head but I don't care about suitable anymore, now that I know you…know what this feels likes." He grabbed her hand and put it to his chest. "I'm done fighting this! I'M DONE DENYING YOU! I LOVE YOU KYLA WITH ALL MY HEART AND SOUL. I LOVE YOU MORE THEN ANYTHING!"
"WHAT ABOUT YOUR CHILDREN" she reminded snatching back her hand. She frantically backed away even more.
He didn't let her get far, for every step she took it felt like he took two. She couldn't get any distance from him as he said "They don't matter, nothing matters anymore but you! You are my family now, my world and I can't bare another second where I'm not inside you, tangled in your everlasting embrace. There isn't anything I wont do for you, to be with you. You are my life now. I'll take care of you. I'll take care of everything. Nothing will ever keep us apart again"
Oh ho ho ho ho! She had no idea he was this...He grabbed her up again and kissed her once more, deeper passionately. He managed to get his tongue in her mouth and then the kiss spread like an explosion from her lips to her cheeks and chin and neck. She desperately tried to pull away from him but as he tried to pulled at her clothes, "I want you...I need to be inside you,"
Her heart pounded in her chest as she struggled to get away from him. She felt like he was suffocating her. All of this was way too much, she no longer wanted to know why. She didn't want to know any of it! Her skin crawled at his cold touched and she felt like she was going to be sick. He ripped her shirt open popping the buttons off. She put her hands on his chest and shoved him back as hard as she could. She managed to get him off her for a second as he stumbled back and caught his balance. He tried to come at her again but shee put up her hand and shouted "STOP! STAY BACK!"
"No," he said before letting out boisterous laughte. It was clear he was delusional as fuck "I told you I'm done holding back. I don't care what this is anymore...just that it is." He reached for his belt and could see his pants were tenting. She turned feeling nauseous. She dropped to her knees and bowled over vomiting on on the floor.
He dropped down beside her and pulling her hair back. "You didn't eat enough today did you. You do that! Have you been taking vitamins? Did you get any sleep last night, you look tired-" He just kept running his fingers through her hair as he talked so fast she could barely understand him. It was like he was manic
She turned to look at him but before she could say anything, she looked beyond him and saw...MILA!
Kyla didn't know how long she'd been standing there but clearly she'd heard enough. The expression on her face…was one of utter heartbreak. If a person could shattered like a glass, it wouldn't come close to the look in Mila's eyes as she just stood there. For a moment Kyla felt sorry for her, to know her husband didn't care about her or her children and that the life they had built had meant nothing. She watched as Mila's slowly came out of her stupor. Her face twisted with rage as she screamed at the top of her lungs, "MARRIAGE OF CONVINCE! I MEAN NOTHING TO YOU!"
Kurt's eyes went wide as he realized Mila had overheard him, he slowly turned as Mila rushed up to the nearby fire extinguisher on the wall. She practically tore it off its wrack. She turned the hose on began to spray them both. The hall filled with fire retardant. Kyla covered her mouth as she heard Mila screaming, "GIVE GOOD HEAD! DOESN'T MATTER! OUR CHILDREN OUR LIFE DOESN'T MATTER! AFTER ALL I'VE DONE FOR YOU! EVERYTHING I'VE GIVEN YOU!"
"MILA!" Kurt put his hands up and tried to reason with her. "THIS ISN'T WHAT IT LOOKS LIKE!" He sprung up and tried to get to her but she full on sprayed him in the face. It got in his eyes and mouth and he bowled over madly coughing. Kyla didn't have much time to focus on him as Mila swung the fire extinguisher at her. Kyla was pretty sure she was going to kill her if she could. She slid away, scooting back on the floor as she Mila kept straying the extinguisher and swinging it around. Kyla coughed getting covered, in fire retardant powder. She knew this couldn't be healthy for her or her babies. She had to fight or get away.
The extinguisher nearly swung down on her foot as Mila came after her, trying to bash her brains in. Kurt ran up behind her still coughing and struggled with his wife, trying to get her to let go of the extinguisher but she was fully pregnant and mad as all fuck. Her heartbreak and hormones seemed to have supercharged her and she was momentarily overpowering him. They struggled sending more and more fire retardant up around them. They were both madly coughing and shouting at each other. "I DIDN'T...cough cough MEAN IT MILA, cough,"SHE'S NOTHING!" cough cough. "SHE'S JUST SOME DUMB FUCKING CUNT!
"LYING BASTARD!" Cough cough cough, "FUCKING BASTARD!" Mila wheezed I GAVE YOU EVERYTHING!" cough cough "I HELPED YOU STEAL ALL THAT FUCKING MONEY!"
"MILA! SHUT UP!" Kurt roared before madly coughing." Kyla had no idea what they were going on about...something about money. She didn't care to find out, she just kept backing away from them. Kurt manged to get hold of the fire extinguisher and they began having a tug of war over it.
"NO! NO! NO!" Mila screamed at the top of her lungs her voice kept breaking with coughs cou "YOU SAID ONE NIGHT!" cough cough, "ONE FUCKING NIGHT!" Cough cough, "I'M NOT GOING TO LET YOU RUN OFF WITH THAT WHORE!" Cough cough cough, "DID YOU FORGET I KNOW WHERE, "cough cough "THE BODIES ARE BURRED "Cough cough," YOU SON OF BITCH! I'LL BURY YOU BEFORE I LET YOU LEAVE ME FOR HER!"
Kyla managed to scoot far enough away and got to her feet. She didn't know what to do, if she should help or run and get someone. She ran down the hall just wanting to get away. Up ahead she saw Ryan coming around the corner, biting into an apple. He saw her then looked down the hall hearing Kurt and Mila shouting. Other teachers were also in the distant, finally hearing their noises. Kurt quickly dropped his apple and ran down the hall. She figured he could fucking deal with it. She rushed pasted the other teachers who were trying to figure out what was going on. She went outside and dusted herself off, then took a moment breathing in the fresh air. She shook her hair out and dusted off her clothes walking to her car. She got in but just at there for a long moment.
Kyla was soooo screwed! "FUCK! FUCK! FUCK!" She slammed her hands against the steering wheel of her car and cursed under her breath again and again.
She put her hand on her stomach...thinking over everything that had happened these last few months, weeks, days and hours fuck the last few minutes had been insane. Her entire world had just been blown up, things could never go back to normal. She had to do something...not just for herself but for her kids. She couldn't stay here...clearly Kurt was insane and Mila had just tried to kill her.
At this point she didn't want anything to do with either of them, she especially didn't want them anywhere near her twins but she might not have a choice...like it or not Kurt was the father of her twins. What if she wasn't able to keep him away...what if he filed for visitation or worse custody. She didn't want to deal with any of this, it felt like one big fucking mess an unending nightmare but it was not like she could just walk away...could she?
She bit her lip, clutched her steering wheel then started the car. She wiped the tears from her eyes as a plan already began forming in her head. She'd go home take only what was important, what she could carry...in and out of the house in less then twenty minute. She'd drive all night, no...she couldn't...she needed to get cleaned up and would nee d to sleep. Yes she'd drive...for a few hours pull over rent a room take a shower. She'd called her family tell them not to worry but she wouldn't visit not until she knew it was safe. She'd tell them to keep an eye out then use the money her grandparents had left her to find some place far...far away from all this horrible bullshit. It wasn't must of a pan but it was start.
She backed out of her parking spot and took one last look at the school, knowing she'd probably never see it or her students again but she'd also never have to deal with Mila or Kurt again. She smiled, having made her decision. She didn't know if it was the lack of sleep or the insanity of everything but getting out of her felt like the right thing to do. She told herself she wasn't running, she was just getting herself out of fucked up situation that only seemed to be getting worse by the second. She flipped on her wind shield whippers as it started to rain and turned on her radio. She passed and ambulance with it's sirens on. She didn't know if it was going to the school or not at this point it was no longer her problem... |
